Sophie Slesinger

Sophie trained in ballet for 15 years at the Maryland Youth Ballet, spending summers at the American Repertory Ballet in Princeton, NJ and the Joffrey Ballet in NYC. She moved to Atlanta in 2005 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, with a minor in Dance from Emory University, where she graduated in 2009. During her time at Emory, she participated in the Emory Dance Company for four years and attended the American College Dance Festival three times. In March 2009, her solo choreography was selected to represent Emory at the American College Dance Festival in Murfreesboro, TN. She also choreographed an ensemble piece for the Emory Dance Company Spring 2009 show. She has spent two summers as the Dance Director for Green Acres Day Camp in Rockville, MD, and currently is the Sustainability Fellow for Residence Life at Emory University, while dancing for ellen lyle/open collision dance and choreographers George Staib and Gregory Catellier. She also recently performed at the Dance Truck for the Le Flash Festival 2009 in Castleberry Hill.
